There is a process to creating art... through imagination, observation and process, an idea presents itself.
I’ve been a potter, tile maker and educator for over 30 years. I’ve been blessed to have trained with exceptional artists in the U.S. and Japan and I share my own passion for clay by teaching at three universities, an art school and in my studio, For Love Of Mud Pottery.
My first big public art commission was for the New York subway system creating four murals for Sheepshead Bay station. This project garnered me the NYC Arts Commission Award for Design Excellence in 1997.
Since then, I've completed murals for several rail road stations, a public library, corporate settings, private residences and authored the book Ceramic Art Tile for the Home.
When not involved with a project, I return to making pottery, specializing in fanciful teapots and functional ware from my wood kiln. The potter's wheel centers my spirit and I am again endlessly facinated with the possibilities of the clay.
